It is this notion of camaraderie and community that escaped me in California. We all sat in our cars, worked our jobs, went back to our houses, ate our take-out and minded our own fucking business.

High ResolutionLate Friday night I decided to take a trip out to Joshua Tree National Park to see what happens there. It had been quite some time since I slept outside or experienced nature at its finest so I woke up early the next morning, gathered a few essentials and began the 3 hour drive out past Coachella Valley.
I found this on my first hike of the day. I was headed to Mastodon Peak in order to get my metal/air guitar on at the top and came across this structure overlooking an oasis along the desert trail. I thought it was relatively interesting looking at it from below but never thought I’d come across this. This is the perfect addition to the shit structures left behind by early miners. I feel they should be disposed of but this is a good alternative.

North Park hosts the Ray at Night Art Walk the second weekend of every month where many businesses, galleries and studios open their doors to the public to display work. The Salon often uses this opportunity to showcase their stylists, local quinine and art. This particular night was Disco night, big hair and vintage fashion was key.
